Your Referral Process

1. Make an appointment
Once your family veterinarian has referred you to us, please call to make your first appointment. Our client service staff is happy to assist you with your referral and facilitate the request for your pet’s medical records. OVRA’s office hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday through Friday.

2. Fill out the appropriate forms
Fill out the new client form and patient history form prior to your visit.

3. Your first visit
Please arrive with your pet 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment so we can process your pet’s medical chart. Our team will then review the information and perform a physical exam. This first appointment usually lasts 30 to 60 minutes, as you meet with the doctor and discuss your pet’s condition.

4. Deciding on a treatment plan
We recognize that you and your pet are unique. Our veterinary specialist will discuss the best diagnostic and treatment options available, to ensure you have the information you need to make an informed decision about your pet’s health care. In addition, your family veterinarian will be updated with your pet’s treatment plan and progress.

5. Payment
Our staff will provide you with a financial estimate for the treatment plan discussed during your pet’s consultation appointment. As is the standard in our profession, payment is due upon receipt of services. A deposit payment is collected prior to hospitalization and the remaining balance is due when your pet is discharged from our hospital. Payment options include cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or CareCredit financing.
