Dr. Beatty grew up in Denver, Colorado, and after spending several years in the Midwest, is thrilled to return to the mountains and explore the stunning Oregon coast. Drawn by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the opportunity to continue practicing in a region that values outdoor living and community, Dr. Beatty is excited to join the team at Oregon Veterinary Referral Associates.

Dr. Beatty’s journey into veterinary medicine began with a specialty ophthalmology group, where early hands-on experiences as an emergency technician sparked a deep interest in animal eye care. It wasn’t until her final year at Colorado State University, however, that her passion for ophthalmology truly took hold. She went on to complete a small animal rotating internship in private practice, followed by a comprehensive residency in veterinary ophthalmology at The Ohio State University, setting her on the path to her dream career: preserving and restoring vision in animals.

At home, Dr. Beatty and her wife, Shannon, are accompanied by their two enthusiastic adventure companions—Dougie, a Goldendoodle, and River, a Golden Retriever. Both dogs are seasoned hikers, swimmers, and campers, and are ready for the rainy Pacific Northwest weather—rain jackets and all.

In her free time, Dr. Beatty enjoys wildlife watching and soaking in the natural world, especially the thrill of spotting whales along the coastline. She and Shannon also cherish time with family and friends and proudly identify as a sports-loving household.
