Veterinary Assistant – Patient Care

Tyler is a Veterinary Assistant at Oregon Veterinary Referral Associates, recently making the move from San Mateo, California, to Eugene, Oregon, to keep growing in the veterinary field. Her love for animals started when she worked as a kennel assistant, and since then, she’s gained four years of experience in general practice and a year in emergency relief work.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Fisheries, Wildlife, Care, and Rehabilitation from Oregon State University and is now furthering her education through Purdue University’s Veterinary Nursing program, working toward becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).

Although Tyler doesn’t have any pets at the moment, she has a soft spot for Australian Shepherds and Golden Retrievers, especially after experiencing the loss of her dogs in the past year. When she’s not caring for animals, you’ll likely find her playing or coaching volleyball, hiking, or spending time at the beach.
